Title: Eighth Judge of the Abidan Court Designation: The Reaper Status: Missing
The only being in recorded history capable of cleanly destroying a condemned Iteration, leaving no fragments in the Void for Fiends to consume. He has gone missing from the Abidan.
Title: Eighth Judge / First Patriarch of the Arelius Family Designation: The Reaper Status: Missing Notable: Arelius marble (ascension invitation)
The First Patriarch of the Arelius Family, who left a marble for his descendants containing a message from beyond Cradle: “You can step out of the Cradle. You can grow up. And join me.” His disappearance has left the Abidan without their sole means of clean Iteration destruction. He appears in black armor, the only dark-clad figure among the Judges.

Born on the Rosegold Continent of Cradle, millennia before the modern era. He walked the original Path of the Hollow King (destruction madra), manifested both the Broom Icon and the Death Icon, and ascended beyond Monarch. He created the Scythe from six legendary weapons and a stolen Worldseed, accidentally making Destruction the eighth aspect of reality. His disappearance was deliberate: he descended to Cradle under an Origin Shroud to search for a successor capable of inheriting the Reaper’s burden.

Identity
The records describe a figure of singular capability and singular isolation. Among the seven Judges of the Abidan Court, Ozriel alone possesses the authority to destroy a condemned Iteration cleanly: no fragments scattered into the Void, no remnants for Fiends to consume, no collateral damage to neighboring worlds. This ability makes him indispensable to the Court’s operations. His departure left the Abidan struggling to maintain over ten thousand Iterations with slower, more destructive methods. The Court classifies his disappearance as desertion. His message to
The labyrinth beneath Sacred Valley preserves the work of Ozmanthus Arelius as its third authority layer. The records from this stratum describe a weaponsmith of unrivaled precision who killed himself and revived as an experiment. The Death Icon manifested unbidden: the Way recognized him as the creator of the world’s deadliest weapons before he recognized it himself. His Broom Icon, manifested at Underlord, was a deliberate proof that
The full picture reveals a being defined by the distance between capability and desire. Ozmanthus waited for the Joy Icon throughout his entire existence: a reflection of connection, of being known and loved rather than feared. He never achieved it. The weight of destroying unsavable worlds, the loneliness of being unrivaled even among Judges, drove him to a solution no other Abidan attempted. He descended to Cradle, hid within his own family line, and spent decades raising mortals capable of ascending. The plan was strategic. The affection was not. [RP Ch.26]
Origins
Ozmanthus Arelius was born on the Rosegold Continent of Cradle, a landmass long since forgotten by the modern era. He walked the original Path of the Hollow King, built on destruction
At Underlord, he manifested the Broom Icon before an audience of scholars, a deliberate demonstration that the Way responds to personal identity rather than martial achievement alone. The Death Icon came later, unbidden, when he killed and revived himself. The Way recognized him as the creator of the world’s deadliest weapons. He held both Icons simultaneously. [RP Ch.2]
Before ascending, Ozmanthus forged the Scythe in the Void from six legendary weapons and a stolen Worldseed. The act triggered the Way’s recognition of a new fundamental force: Destruction became the eighth aspect of reality, and Ozmanthus became its avatar. He was the only Judge ever accepted into the Abidan without an existing role to fill. The eighth position was created by his ascension. [RP Ch.9]
Ozmanthus founded the Arelius Family on Cradle before ascending. The family crest (a black crescent) derives from his personal scythe emblem. His bloodline ability, a sensory web granting awareness through “a thousand eyes and ten thousand ears,” was originally his personal talent, encoded into his descendants through methods the simulation cannot fully reconstruct. He left a marble for his family containing an invitation to follow him beyond Cradle. [SK Ch.18, RP Ch.9]
The labyrinth preserves an echo of Ozmanthus as its most powerful remnant. Unlike lesser echoes, it carries actual authority. It appears with bright hair, a small subtle smile, and a broom, accompanied by a cool gentle wind. Far more solid than any other echo in the system, more like a person than a ghost. [RP Ch.20]
The Judge
Ozriel serves as the Eighth Judge of the Abidan Court. His role is unique: when an Iteration is condemned, standard protocol scatters the world’s fragments into the Void, where they attract Fiends and endanger neighboring worlds. Ozriel eliminates condemned Iterations cleanly, leaving nothing behind. The system was designed for 250 worlds before his ascension. With his capability, the Abidan expanded to over ten thousand, only 2.5% fully staffed. His departure made the expansion unsustainable. [BF Ch.13]
His last known communication was a message to
Ozriel’s compatibility score among the Judges is rated 6/7, below
The Descent
Ozriel’s disappearance from the Abidan was not a flight but a plan. He acquired the Origin Shroud from the Mad King in Iteration 216: Limit, cutting the concealment artifact from Daruman during an ambush. The Shroud disguises existence from Judge-level detection. Ozriel repaired it and used it to suppress himself to Underlord level while building a false identity within the Arelius Family, his own bloodline on Cradle. [RP Ch.24, Ch.26]
His purpose was specific: to find and raise a successor capable of inheriting the Reaper’s role. The Eledari Pact constrained him to function as a normal sacred artist at his claimed

Restoration
Restored to full power, Ozriel founded the Reaper Division: the Eighth Division of the Abidan, staffed by sacred artists he had personally raised on Cradle. The division operates from the Grave (formerly the Valiant Memorial Watchtower) in orbit above Sanctum. He created OTEP, the Original Technical Entertainment Presence, as a division tool. In two standard years, the Reaper Division saved 141 worlds. His philosophy: “Fewer worlds, more interference. Better to meddle now than to Reap later.” [WB Ch.31]
Powers & Abilities
Destruction Authority
Ozriel is the avatar of Destruction, the eighth aspect of reality. This authority allows him to cleanly eliminate a condemned Iteration: total annihilation without scattering fragments into the Void. No other being in recorded history possesses this capability. The authority was not granted but emerged when the Way recognized a new fundamental force during the Scythe’s creation. [BF Ch.13, RP Ch.9]
Judge Authority
During the crisis on Cradle, Ozriel wielded the authority of all seven Judge mantles simultaneously. The scope of this combined authority extends across every aspect of reality maintained by the Abidan: fate, restoration, combat, spatial manipulation, defense, communication, and nullification. [RP Ch.26]
Icons
Broom Icon
Manifested at Underlord, millennia before the modern era. A deliberate demonstration that
Death Icon
Manifested when Ozmanthus killed and revived himself. Unintended: the Way recognized him as the creator of the world’s deadliest weapons. He held both Icons simultaneously. [RP Ch.2]
Joy Icon (Never Manifested)
The Icon Ozriel waited for throughout his entire existence, refusing all combat Icons in favor of one reflecting connection rather than destruction. “I don’t want to end up alone.” The Joy Icon remains unachieved at the end of the documented record. [RP Ch.16]
Weapons & Equipment
The Scythe of Ozriel
A slice of darkness forged into metal, sentient and aware. Created by Ozmanthus in the Void from six legendary weapons:
- Penance (rebuilt arrowhead of absolute death)
- Auctarius (“the Blade that Sundered Heaven”)
- Bane of the Titan (designed to kill second-generation Gadrael)
- Razor of Suriel (obsolete Judge weapon prototype)
- Sha’irik (“the absolute curse”)
- Shears of
(obsolete Judge weapon from a previous Makiel)Makiel
Powered by a stolen Worldseed, the Scythe triggered the Way’s recognition of Destruction as the eighth aspect of reality. The weapon was stolen by the Mad King during the Abidan crisis and later hidden beneath Oversight, Makiel’s headquarters. [RP Ch.9, WB Ch.5]
Mantle of Ozriel
Personal armor and cloak of boiling black fire. The Mantle extends Ozriel’s authority and serves as the physical symbol of his power reflected in the Way. It arrived through the Way when the Origin Shroud dissolved, sealing around him as liquid black armor. Detachable with the authority command “Go.” When the Mad King tore it during combat, Ozriel became “less the Reaper.” [RP Ch.26, WB Ch.21]
Origin Shroud
A concealment artifact created by the Mad King from four priceless treasures over thirty years:
- Mask of the Unweaver
- The Angler’s Cloak
- Conceptual stealth spirit
- Durandiel’s Judge-veiling band (from the Ghost, Third Judge)
Each component warps reality on its own; together, they disguise existence from Judge-level detection. Ozriel cut the Shroud from Daruman in Iteration 216: Limit, repaired it, and used it to hide on Cradle. It dissolved when its purpose was fulfilled. [RP Ch.24, Ch.26]
Penance
An arrowhead of absolute death created by Ozmanthus on Cradle before ascending. Penance commands the Way to flip a target from “alive” to “dead.” Against non-ascended beings, it functions without limit; the version presented as a tournament prize was restricted to a single use. [UC Ch.20]
Relationships
Suriel
Relationship: Fellow Judge, ally
The Sixth Judge, the Phoenix, charged with healing damaged Iterations. She was formally assigned to locate Ozriel after his disappearance. His message to her revealed the sixteen hidden facilities and his conviction that the Abidan must change. Their shared commitment to preserving life over protocol places them on the same side of the Court’s political fractures. [BF Ch.13]
Suriel released Ozriel’s full authority for the final confrontation with the Mad King and attempted the Return command that restored him after
Makiel (Tommess)
Relationship: Rival, redeemer
The First Judge, the Hound. Makiel opposed Ozriel for millennia over the fundamental question of Abidan protocol: whether condemned worlds should be mourned or efficiently processed. He secretly replicated the Scythe and, through a chain of events, enabled the Mad King to acquire it. His compatibility score of 7/7 exceeded Ozriel’s 6/7. [DG Prologue]
His true name was Tommess. His final act was sacrificing his own existence to restore Ozriel’s power: a calculated revenge ensuring Ozriel would carry the debt of having been saved by the person he least respected. [WB Ch.28]
Daruman (The Mad King)
Relationship: Nemesis
Leader of the Vroshir. Daruman stole the Scythe and created the Origin Shroud from four priceless treasures over thirty years. He sheltered millions underground in Iteration 216: Limit for two hundred years before Ozriel ambushed him and cut the Shroud away. Their conflict spans multiple Iterations and predates the events on Cradle. [BL Ch.8, RP Ch.24]
Eithan Arelius
Relationship: His chosen identity on Cradle
Ozriel descended to Iteration 110 under the Origin Shroud and built a life within the Arelius Family, his own bloodline. As
